A Philadelphia Park Ranger was hospitalized on Sunday following a violent stabbing incident in Rittenhouse Square. The attack occurred around 4:18 p.m. near 18th and Walnut Streets, as reported by the police. The ranger was stabbed in the skull and in the area surrounding his right eye by the suspect as they were fighting physically.
A pair of scissors was identified as the weapon used in the attack, according to law enforcement officials who talked to Fox 29. The injured ranger was quickly taken to a neighboring hospital after the event, where his status was classified as stable.
Authorities verified that a weapon had been found at the location and that one of the suspects had been detained. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the altercation.

The first stabbing happened in the Unit block of South Dewey Street in West Philadelphia earlier on Sunday morning, at five a.m. A woman in her early forties suffered two knife wounds to her right upper back in this event. After being taken to a hospital, it was said that her status was stable.
Just after 4 p.m., the second stabbing occurred inside a deli located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia on the 2700 block of Kensington Avenue. Two males suffered injuries in this instance. A man in his early sixties had a cut to his skull, while another man in his late twenties had been stabbed in the arm. Both patients were reported to be in stable condition after being transported to a local hospital. According to the police, no firearms had been found at the site, and no one had been taken into custody in relation to the event.
The third and most serious event of the day was the park ranger's stabbing in Rittenhouse Square. Law enforcement's quick action resulted in the weapon being recovered right away and the culprit in the incident being taken into custody.
