Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Gujarat’s capital, Ahmedabad on Monday. According to the IMD, the city will experience heavy rainfall and a generally cloudy sky until Tuesday. Rain is expected to continue throughout the week, lasting until September 1. The maximum temperature is forecasted to reach 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will stay around 24 degrees Celsius.

Weekly Weather Forecast

The weather will be generally cloudy with periods of heavy rain in Ahmedabad next week. On August 26 and 27, temperatures will range from a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather will remain cloudy with heavy rain. On August 28 and 29, temperatures will range from 25 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius, with generally cloudy skies and moderate rain. The weather will be similar on August 30, with temperatures between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius. By August 31, temperatures will range from 26 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius, with generally cloudy skies and moderate rain. Waterlogging In Ahmedabad

Amid the heavy rainfall in certain parts of Gujarat, residential areas of Ahmedabad faced severe waterlogging on Monday. As the city geared up to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami, various areas of the Ahmedabad district including Ghatlodiya and Naranpura faced waterlogging in their residential areas.

With the vehicles still parked on the road, the people in residential areas faced water pooling up to their ankles on long stretches of roads and intersections of the city. While some vehicles were able to traverse through the water, other commuters were seen wading through the water on foot with their two-wheeler vehicles.

Visuals from the Naranpura area show a commuter with his motorcycle falling into the water and trying to get his belongings out.

Multiple areas of Delhi also faced waterlogging due to heavy rains. Visuals from Dhaula Kuan on August 23 showed massive traffic congestion in the area due to waterlogging as commuters and vehicles struggled to cross the roads.
