Rapper Young Thug of Atlanta, Georgia, has changed his plea to guilty in his ongoing trial, after being indicted in 2022 on charges of running a street gang. On Thursday, Young Thug, aka Jeffery Lamar Williams, was in the Fulton County court in Georgia where he was asked about the plea deal. After taking a brief break from the trial to discuss the plea deal, the rapper returned and said he is accepting it.

Fans of the rapper, indicted for running the Atlanta-based street gang Young Slime Life, or YSL, took to X to share the moment the 33-year-old accepts the plea deal.

Will Young Thug Go Home Today?

A fan account of the Grammy-winning rapper posted that he pleaded 'no contest' to the RICO charges and the gang leader charges, and pleaded guilty to the rest. As a result, the rapper will most likely not go home today, as his sentence will be reduced to 45 years, instead of the original possibility of 125 years in prison. It could be reduced further, if the judge in the case, Paige Whitaker, offers him to submit a plea.

Here's the moment when the rapper pleads guilty to the charges.

As per Everything Georgia, a news website from the Peach State, the state prosecutors are recommending that Young Thug serve 25 years in prison and 20 years in probation. The judge will give the final verdict on Young Thug's fate.

This is a developing story.
