Ashok Galla made his acting debut with the film ‘Hero.’ The actor is set to impress everyone with his second and upcoming film ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.’ Directed by Arjun Jandyala, the film, which is slated for release on November 22, 2024, is a rustic village drama interspersed with divine elements.
‘Edge-Of-The-Seat Writing’
Talking about the film to Deccan Chronicle, Ashok says that when he heard the script, he could connect to it instantly. He adds that the divine elements and gripping writing will give the audience an edge-of-the-seat experience. “At a time when I am looking for a script that gives me an opportunity to prove my acting chops, I got ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.’ I liked the way my character was designed and weaved into the narrative.”
The actor also reveals that her underwent a dramatic transformation to sport a mean look for the part in the film. “After I wrapped up shooting for my first schedule of Devaki Nandana…, I realised that I am part of something big. Prasanth Varma (HanuMan director) wrote the script, and he too was particular I gain more muscle and look leaner.”
Comparisons With Mahesh Babu
Ashok is the nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu, so comparisons to his uncle are inevitable. Adding that Ashok is still in the process of proving himself, he describes the comparisons as ‘unwanted pressure.’ “I take them (comparisons) in my stride. ‘Self-confidence’ is the best quality I imbibed from Mahesh garu. I have seen him from close quarters. Even during the toughest times and when he was in a low, he stayed strong. That’s because he knew what he is and who he is. He believed in himself,” reveals Ashok.
'Rana Daggubati Is My 3AM Friend'
Ashok has a very few friends in the industry but reveals that Rana Daggubati is his 3AM friend. “I share that comfort zone with him because he is close to my family. If I am in trouble or need any advice I call Rana, he shares great love with our family.”
