Actor Rajinikanth has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai. The iconic star will reportedly be undergoing an elective cardiac procedure.
Rajinikanth admitted to hospital
During the late hours of September 30, Rajinikanth was reportedly rushed to Apollo Greams Road Hospitals in Chennai. The legendary star has been hospitalised for an elective procedure, as per reports. The procedure, which will be carried out in the cardiac cath lab on October 1, will be supervised by cardiologist Dr Sai Satish.
For the unversed, an elective procedure is a procedure that a patient need, but doesn't have to be done right away. It is usually scheduled in advance as it does not involve a medical emergency.

According to reports, Rajinikanth was taken to the hospital after complaining of severe stomach pain. He was under observation as soon as he arrived at the hospital and is currently stable.
On the work front
Rajinikanth will next be seen on the big screen in Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel the upcoming project also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Abhirami. The action thriller film is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024.

The legendary actor is currently working on the action thriller film, Coolie. The movie is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Aside from Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Upendra also play key characters in the highly-awaited project. Director Lokesh recently revealed thatCoolie would be a standalone film, and not another entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Additionally, the Rajinikanth starrer will revolve around gold smuggling rather than drugs. Coolie is set to hit the big screens in 2025.
