Casey Diamond, a prominent pickleball player, believes that India has the potential to catch up with the United States in terms of pickleball popularity. Expressing his amazement at the sheer number of players turning for practice before the PWR DUPR India Masters event, Diamond emphasised the importance of seeing similar levels of excitement for pickleball in other countries as well.
Sharing his thoughts on the future of the sport in the country, Diamond said, "India can catch up with the USA in terms of pickleball popularity. The amount of players that I can see practising before the event is insane. We should see this much excitement for pickleball in other countries as well. Here, it is a bit different."
Players from across the world have arrived in India to compete, and there is palpable excitement on the ground. Adding to the global flavour, Roos Van Reek, a female player from the Netherlands, also spoke about her eagerness to participate in PWR DUPR India Masters.
"I am very happy being here and am very excited for that. Looking forward to playing against the international players and India," said Rose. Coming from a tennis background, she began her pickleball journey a year ago and quickly fell in love with the game. "I picked it up because it was fun, and to all the young girls across the world, I would say pickleball is an amazing sport to try, " she said.
