prithvi shaw reacts to brutal social media trolling after ipl snub: 'what wrong have i done?'

Prithvi Shaw was once dubbed the next big thing in Indian cricket, but today he is nowhere near in the scheme of things for India. The Mumbai batter hit a new low after he went unsold in the IPL 2024 mega auction on Monday. Shaw kept his base price at 75 lakh, but no franchises showed interest in securing his services.

A video of Shaw went viral after going unsold in the IPL auction where he talked about dealing with endless trolling.

The video was originally shared on a YouTube Channel “Focused Indian” on the eve of the IPL auction in Jeddah. In the video, Shaw talk about continues trolling on social media and how he deals with the trolls. Shaw pointed out that trolls don't follow him on any platform yet they are keeping a close eye on him, which he took positively, however, he added that the trolling does hurt him at times.

“If he is not following me, then how will he troll? That means he has eyes on me, nice. “I feel like trolling is not a good thing, but it is not such a bad thing either,” Shaw said. “If people make memes on me, I see them as well. I sometimes get hurt," he said in the video.

Shaw reacted to the brutal trolling after a video of him dancing at a party went viral, saying it was his birthday, and questioning the logic behind the trolling.

"I was wondering what wrong have I done. I know if I am doing anything wrong. But if something is not wrong, it should be shown in that light,” Shaw said

Shaw was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega auction. The Capitals roped in Shaw in 2018 and backed him for seven seasons despite inconsistent performances. Shaw was recently dropped from the Mumbai team, reportedly due to fitness concerns and disciplinary issues. He dropped his base price from 2 crore to 75 lakh but failed to get any attention in the mega auction.
