  • Begin the worship of Lord Shiva before sunset. Place a statue or Shivling of Lord Shiva in a clean and sacred spot or visit a temple.
  • For the worship, perform an offering ritual (abhishek) on the Shivling with pure water, milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and sugar.
  • Afterward, offer Bilva leaves, Dhatura, flowers, and sandalwood. Light incense, lamps, and offer food and donations.
  • During the worship, chant the Shiva mantra "Om Namah Shivaya" and the Sun God’s mantra "Om Ghrini Suryaya Namah." Reciting these mantras brings the grace of both Lord Shiva and the Sun God. It is important to avoid negative emotions on this day.
