Pickleball fever is catching up with people around the world. From the United States of America (USA) to India, the sport is quickly becoming a fan favourite in every corner of the planet. The biggest names in the country are paying attention to the sport and star Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is among them.
On Sunday (September 8), she took to Instagram and gave fans a sneak peek into her love for the sport. Answering a fan question on which sport she plays, the 37-year-old shared a clip of her on-court adventures. On her Instagram story, Prabhu shared a video in which she was playing the sport with full passion and desire. The clip quickly went viral on social media.

For those unversed, pickleball is regarded as the fastest-growing sport in the United States of America (USA). It is also quickly gaining pace in India, with several sports enthusiasts flocking to courts around the country. Few have also stated that the sport could threaten tennis in the future, including 24-time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic.

The sport has also seen some tennis players turn professionals. US Open mixed doubles finalist Donald Young played the tennis tournament of his career at Flushing Meadows as he has taken up pickleball permanently. Next year, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Andre Agassi, will make a trip to India to inaugurate the PWR DUPR Indian Tour and League. Before the mega event, India will first host the PWR DUPR Indian Masters from October 24 to 27 in New Delhi next month.
Samantha is not the first popular celebrity who has been seen playing the sport. Last year, after the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Dubai, former India captain MS Dhoni and star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant were seen playing the sport.
