Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa's love story is as dreamy as it gets. The actors dated for over a decade before officially becoming husband and wife in November 2021. While they've finally achieved the fame and recognition they rightfully deserve, the duo has also supported each other through their struggling days. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, theIC 814: The Kandahar Hijack actress talked about how she and her husband have stood by each other through various challenges. She also revealed that someone had advised Rajkummar to consider relationships with more successful actresses.
Patralekhaa on Rajkummar Rao's success
The actress recalled her first impression of Raj as simply "a man who's so passionate about his art."
When asked how she feels when Rajkummar credits her for his success, she replied, "That's untrue. He is just being really polite. Because he's a man who h is driven by his passion."
Talking about a difficult phase in her life, she added, "Like I said, those days were quite blurry for me. It is bevause of him and mom-dad that I sailed through it. So actually, the credit is for him that he stood by me like a rock."
"And come on, he had Stree six years back. He had Bareilly Ki Barfi. He could’ve just walked out but he continued,” Patra said before revealing, “So many also told him that ‘Go ahead, see there are so many options.’ But he’s just a beautiful man. He’s a feminist. He is a true feminist.”
She said that they are "equal partners", in life and in each other's success.
Patralekhaa on Stree 2
Patralekhaa also expressed her happiness over the massive box office success of her husband's latest film, Stree 2. She said, “I think there’s much more to come. Numbers are great but I feel he’s of a different breed. I live with him, I have been living with him. I see him, I’ve seen his growth. I have seen what he does to make the scene work, make his character work. He’s that kind of actor who will give to his co-actors so that the scene works. Not many people do that.”
