Patralekhaa Reveals Getting Catcalled, How Rajkummar Helped
During the interview, Patralekhaa recalled getting catcalled and said, “Why should a woman be hyper-aware of their sorroundings? We should be really comfortable walking into a place a space. Getting into an auto or bus. But I feel like these instances in life make you really hyper aware. Even easteasing, today. You’re walking out and even somebody just says something. I’m a firm believer. Actually, Raj(kummar Rao) taught me.”
She added, "I think somebody catcalled me. I came back home and I was pretty upset and he said 'why didn't you just turned back and call him out? The moment you call him out, he will think twice before doing it to any other girl. These are the roadside incidences we are talking about."
Patraelkhaa On Facing Situations
The Love Games actress went on to share about facing situations and how she snowballed out of it. “When you are walking into a work space, especially when you are a girl. You are walking into a room which should have safety in that. But fortunately or unfortunately that doesn’t happen, because I’m so hyper-aware and like I’ve said I’ve had some terrible incidence. Very early in my life I understood to just navigate out of a situation. It’s a feeling. It’s a vibe and you shouldn’t catch onto these feelings because this shouldn’t be happening, but also because like I said, I was in a boarding school and I also kind of have to look after myself. So, in my life, in my acting career, it’s going to be a lie if I say I didn’t face situations. I just kind of snowballed out of it. I had to protect myself. I had to navigate myself out of that situation. But one shouldn’t have to do that. It’s too sad,” she concluded.
