Patna: As many as 76 schools have been closed in Patna as the water level in River Ganga has risen dangerously. The District Magistrate announced a school holiday for 76 institutions in the area that are lying in the danger zone. All these schools have been ordered shut till Saturday, September 21, 2024. The decision has been taken keeping the security and safety of the students and the teachers.
Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh directed to close 76 schools of 8 blocks from September 18 to 21. As per the orders, schools located in Athamalgola, Badha, Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, Sadar, Danapur, Fatuha, Maner and Mokama blocks have been notified and will remain closed till Saturday.
Meanwhile, flooding of low lying areas remain a concern as the water level in the river continues to rise.
Patna Schools Closed in These Regions
Schools in Momindpur of Fatuha block, Akilpur, Ganghara, Khaitanpur, Madhavpur, Kasim Chak Manas, Panapur, Dalapur and Haibaspur of Danapur will remain closed. Whereas the schools of Chiraiya Rupas, Hardaspur Diara, Kala Diara, Rupas Mahaji Panchayat of Bakhtiyarpur block, Ibrahimpur of Barh block, Ramnagar Diara Panchayat of Athamalgola block will remain closed till 21st.
Students and parents must note that the schools will now reopen on Monday i.e. September 23. For further details, it is advised to contact the respective school administration.
