Yuvraj Singh did not mince his words after his protege Abhishek Sharma was run-out in the first T20I of the India-Bangladesh series at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday (October 6) during the home team's emphatic seven-wicket victory.
Opening the batting during India's run-chase of 128 runs, Abhishek looked in red-hot form and in the mood to play a big knock. The left-handed batter took no time to settle and raced to 16 runs in just seven balls. However, his innings were cut short after he was caught short of his crease in a mix-up with Sanju Samson.

On the last ball of the second over of India's innings, Samson defended a delivery from Taskin Ahmed. On the non-striker's end, Abhishek sensed an opportunity to take a run and he immediately left his crease. However, Towrid Hridoy was close the stumps and Samson decided against stepping out on the striker's end. He was quick to tell Abhishek to get back to his crease but the 24-year-old was too far away and the Bangladesh fielders made no mistake and ran him out.

On Abhishek Sharma's Instagram post after the match, Yuvraj noticed a fan's comment claiming a big knock is due for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star. The 2011 World Cup-winner made his opinion on the run-out public and he was visibly unhappy at Abhishek's actions. "Only if we apply our brains properly," wrote Yuvraj.
