not jaiswal or kohli! cummins pick jasprit bumrah as player aus need to keep quiet to go a long way in winning series

The upcoming five-match Test series between India and Australia, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, is one of the most anticipated series. India have enjoyed stunning success over Australia, not losing a series since 2014-2015, and winning four back-to-back series, including two in Australia. India will have a rare opportunity to complete a hat-trick of series wins when they tour Australia for the series.

One of the key reasons for India's success in Australia was their pacers who kept a check on the mighty Aussie batting, and the Indian bowlers will once again have to be at the peak of their prowess to keep Australian batters quiet and play a significant role in leading India to a series win.

India's spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most important players in the Indian team as he possesses the skills to change the course of the game in an over or two. Australia is wary of the threat Bumrah brings along and said keeping him quiet during the series will help Australia go a long way in winning the series.

"I'm a big fan of Bumrah. I think he's a fantastic bowler. Hopefully, if we can keep him quiet, that is going to go a long way to winning the series," said Cummins on the Star Sports Press Room.

"Alongside him, he has got some other guys who haven't played a lot over here in Australia (that) we haven't seen a lot of. We'll see how it goes," he added.

Australia To Lean On WTC, ODI World Cup Memories

Pat Cummins said that Australia are over the series defeat to India and would lean on sweet memories from the WTC final and ODI World Cup where they defeated India to win the titles.

"The last two series were a long time ago. We have got over it. I've never played alongside him (Rohit Sharma), so I don't know him super well. But it has looked like they (Indian team) are pretty organised, pretty well-planned," the 31-year-old added.

"Fortunately, over the last few years, we've had some success in the World Test Championship final and (in) a different format for the ODI World Cup. We'll be trying to lean on those memories. As I'm sure they're trying to remember some of the previous series over here as well," Cummins concluded.
