no traffic on faridabad, palwal, sohna and mathura road now as new stretch of delhi-mumbai expressway opens

Starting November 12, travellers heading to Faridabad, Palwal, and Sohna via Mathura Road can expect significant relief from long traffic jams, thanks to a newly opened 24-km section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This stretch, developed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), links Mithapur at Faridabad's border with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Sohna, easing travel in the region.

As part of the Bharat Mala project, NHAI is constructing additional routes to connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway through Faridabad Sector 65. The highway section, costing approximately Rs 5,500 crore, will extend from DND Flyway to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Sohna.

The route inaugurated on Tuesday spans from Mithapur to Sahupura, with a 26-km stretch from Sector-65 Sahupura to Sohna already operational. This new highway will notably benefit residents of South Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, providing easier access to other cities, including Meerut, Haridwar, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Jaipur. Traffic on the Delhi-Agra highway is also expected to ease, offering a smoother ride for commuters.

In another news, a 24-km passage of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Faridabad, Haryana, has been opened for traffic. However, a formal date for inauguration is yet to be announced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The work on the passage continued till the last week of October, said officials.

An official informed that the 12-lane expressway connects with Mithapur (Jaitpur Pushta) on the Delhi border and Kelly village of Ballabhgarh subdivision in the district. Both of them are in use by commuters, said a report by The Tribune. The 12-lane expressway connecting Mithapur (Jaitpur Pushta) located on the Delhi border and Kelly village of Ballabhgarh subdivision in the district has been opened to traffic as it is ready for commuting, said an official. The vehicle movement was allowed at the stretch partially for the past month.
