Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Sunday said she is supporting Donald Trump because of his policies and is willing to step-up to help the former president if he wants her assistance. The 52-year-old often spoke against the GOP nominee during the party primaries, slamming him as 'unhinged' and 'toxic'. She still disagrees with Trump's 'style', but went on to officially endorse him at the RNC last month.
Haley served for nearly two years as Donald Trump's Ambassador to the United Nations – from January 2017 through December 2018. She failed to beat him in the primaries and has since shown support for the former president.

"He knows I'm on standby. I talked to him back in June. He's aware that I'm ready if he ever needs me to do that," Haley told CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan on Sunday.
When asked if Trump had reached out to her for joining him on the 2024 campaign trail, the former South Carolina governor said: "That's his choice. He can, you know, whatever he decides to do with his campaign, he can do that. But when I called him back in June, I told him I was supportive."
"I think the teams have talked to each other a little bit, but there hasn't been an ask as of yet. But you know, should he ask, I'm happy to be helpful."

Nikki Haley was also asked about Trump's recent press conference where he denied the sexual assault allegations against him. "I think the focus for me is on policy," she said.
She continued, "I've always said, look, if I thought Biden or Trump were great candidates, I wouldn't have run for president; I ran because I thought I could do a better job."
