SM Entertainment, on Wednesday, August 28, announced that singer Taeil has been removed from boy band NCT following allegations of a sexual offense and being charged in a criminal case for the same. SM Entertainment released a statement about Taeil removal, through its social media handles.
SM Entertainment's statement
"This is SM Entertainment. We have recently learned that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a sexual offense. As we were assessing the facts related to the matter, we recognized the severity of the situation and determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided on his departure from the group. Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the police investigation. We will provide further statements as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the concern and distress caused by our artist."
NCT and its band members unfollow Taeil on Instagram
NCT and NCT 127, along with its members have removed Taeil from all its listings on social media. Bandmates Taeyong, Doyoung, and Haechan have unfollowed the K-pop artiste on Instagram too.

Ever since accusations came up against him NCT leader Taeil, who is currently serving in the military, has been cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. He even quit the group and has removed all NCT related posts from his Instagram profile. The case has also resulted in his followers falling down to barely 50.
Taeil made his K-pop debut with NCT and later became a permanent member of NCT 127.
