Nathan Bracken, who was the world's No.1 ODI bowler in 2008 and graced the international cricket stage with his distinctive long locks and flowing run-up, has recently made a surprising career transition. A key member of Australia's limited overs side, Bracken has now ventured into a new field, far removed from the world of sports.
In a surprising turn of events, Bracken has reportedly taken on the role of an Account Manager. This marked a significant change from his previous career as a professional cricketer.
Bracken, who won the World Cup in 2007, signed an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008. While RCB retained him in their squad for the 2009 season, He never played a game for the team because of injury issues.
In addition to his corporate career, Bracken also briefly ventured into politics. In 2023, he contested as a Liberal candidate for The Entrance electorate.

A chronic knee injury had forced Nathan Bracken to retire from all forms of the game. Bracken also had a legal dispute with Cricket Australia (CA) and medical professionals regarding the treatment of a knee injury he sustained in 2007. He claimed negligence in the diagnosis and treatment, which he believed prematurely ended his cricket career. In 2012, Bracken sued CA, the governing body and three of its medical professionals, claiming they failed to "investigate, diagnose and treat" his right knee injury suffered the day before an ODI against England in 2007.
Bracken played five Tests but was best known as a limited-overs specialist. His 174 ODI wickets place him sixth on Australia's list, and his contribution was often underrated.
