Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and his wife, Sudha Murty, appeared in the recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on the OTT platform Netflix. The audience was captivated by the love story of the couple. During the show, Sudha Murty recalled an amusing incident of Narayana Murthy's first meeting with her father.
The Rajya Sabha member revealed that Narayana Murthy's plan to impress her father did not go as planned. She recounted that the Infosys founder's taxi in which he was travelling broke down and he arrived two hours late. Sudha Murthy said that her father was very particular about time.
"My father asked me about Narayana Murthy's work and when he came he said that he wanted to join politics and open an orphanage. My father thought about how much Narayana Murthy was earning and what his salary would be. My father thought highly of me as in those days not many women pursued engineering."
She further added that her father, who was a professor, was not very much impressed by the Infosys founder. Narayana Murthy then joined the conversation and narrated his feelings at that time.
“I was a bit playful and even a bit adventurous. I thought, ‘Okay, let him be angry,’” he jokingly said. When asked about fond memories of meeting Sudha for the first time. He called Sudha, " a breath of fresh air".
Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy are one of the loved couples in India. Their simplicity is spoken highly of. In March this year, Sudha Murthy, who is also an author, was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India. Apart from Narayan and Sudha Murty, Deepinder Goyal and her wife Grecia Munoz graced the show.
