'nahi mila yaar..': jemimah rodrigues' post amid coldplay concert ticket rush goes viral

Ace India batter Jemimah Rodrigues, who is an amateur musician herself, has missed out on an opportunity to attend British rock band Coldplay's concert in Navi Mumbai, much like many others in the city and across India. Notably, within seconds of the tickets going live, they were booked by fans across the country and many like Rodrigues were left stranded in the queue.

The website of the ticketing platform BookMyShow crashed due to the massive traffic. Later, they announced the addition of a third day to their concert in India.

The Google trends showed that the search for ‘Coldplay’ peaked twice during the day, first at 12:10 pm on Sunday, September 22 followed by a smaller spike at around 1:45 pm.

Notably, most Indian women's cricket matches in Mumbai are played at the DY Patil Stadium, where Coldplay will be hosting the concert.

The rush was such that Rodrigues was left behind 9.73 lakh people in the queue. Her post drew a fun reaction from fellow cricketer Harleen Deol, who commented, "Hahahaha I’m feeling better now seeing your number. Mine was 33k."

Coldplay's best live performance was almost 20 years ago in Toronto, Canada as a part of their Twisted Logic Tour. Seemingly, it is the young crowd entering the workforce in urban sectors with high-paying jobs and little to zero financial liabilities who were behind the tickets.

Rodrigues will next be seen in action at the Women's T20 World Cup which begins in nine days. India take on New Zealand in their opening game on October 4 in Dubai.
