That Akkineni Nagarjuna has filed a criminal defamation suit against Congress leader and Telangana Minister Konda Surekha (after comments against Akkineni family while targeting KT Rama Rao) is known. The case which was supposed to come for hearing a couple of days ago has been pushed to Monday since the judge was on leave. On Monday, the counsel of Nagarjuna has argued the case. The court after hearing the contention stated that it would record Nagarjuna’s statement on Thursday.

Court To Record Nagarjuna’s Statement

Nagarjuna will appear at the Nampally Court to record his statement on Tuesday. The court has also asked witnesses Yarlagadda Supriya and Venkateshwar Metla to record their statements. This was after Ashok Reddy, senior counsel on behalf of Nagarjuna, put forward his arguments in the case before the court on Monday morning. Subsequently, the court has postponed further hearing to Tuesday. After recording Nagarjuna and the witnesses’ statements, the court will further proceed in the case.

Tollywood Shows Solidarity

Many celebs have come in support of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna over the issue. Superstars like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Allu Arjun and Jr NTR among many have lashed out at the politician’s remarks. Many termed her comments as, “irresponsible, intolerable, vulgar, and baseless.” These counter statements from superstars came after Konda Surekha linked former Minister and BRS leader KTR to the divorce of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. She accused KTR of tapping the phones of actors and blackmailing them.
