Actor and motorsport enthusiast Akkineni Naga Chaitanya ignited the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) as he takes the helm of the Hyderabad Blackbirds as team owner for the 2024 season of the Indian Racing League (IRL).
Naga Chaitanya Excited And So Thrilled
When asked how’s he feeling being on the circuit, he replies that he never ever dreamt of that something like this will happen in the heart of Chennai. “I am very excited and so thrilled that this race happening,” shares Naga Chaitanya.
Chay’s deep-rooted love for racing, coupled with his influence as a youth icon and his stature in the entertainment industry, is expected to significantly boost the festival's visibility and attract a broader audience to the thrilling event.
From witnessing the circuit far away to owning a team, Chay came a long way. But ask him was owning a team (Hyderabad Blackbirds) on his bucket list? “It was never part of my bucket list. It was actually a dream that never felt real at any point of time. I still can’t believe that it became a reality today. I grew up in Chennai, close to the race track Sriperumbudur. So I watched a lot of races and I only dreamt of being part of it one day, and the day has finally come,” said Naga Chaitanya who is a passionate follower of Formula 1 and a dedicated collector of supercars and motorcycles.
Exudes Confidence In His Team
On a concluding note, Naga Chaitanya expresses confidence in his team and said that he will monitor them closely. “I wish them all the best, Hyderabad team is looking very strong; I am sure they gonna win,” said the actor.
The Indian Racing Festival, organized by RPPL, features the FMSCI-approved Indian Racing League and the FEI-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC), designed to nurture young talent and provide them with a platform to excel.
