Mumbai: The city and suburbs are very likely to receive light to moderate rain on Wednesday with partly cloudy sky expected throughout the day. The temperature, as per India Meteorology Department (IMD) would hover between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius. Areas adjoining Mumbai, like Thane and Palghar are also likely to receive light to moderate rainfall today.

In the coming days as well, Mumbai is predicted to witness light rainfall with clouds likely to cover the skies. The minimum temperature may range in between 26-27 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature could range between 30-31 degrees Celsius in the city.
According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is expected over West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.

Mumbai Ganesh Chaturthi Festivites
The festival to welcome Lord Ganesha is around the corner and the people of Maharashtra are preparing for a grand welcome of the king of Lalbagh. Ganesh idol procession will be held in Mumbai, Nashik and Pune among other cities and with rain prediction, the festivities may see some trouble.
However, the enthusiasm of Mumbaikars has also been known to be high when it comes to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi and other festivals.
Maharashtra Floods
Heavy rain in the Marathawad region caused severe flooding in the region with low-lying areas completely submerged. Rescue operations were launched to save people and shift them to safer places.
Reports say at least 12 people died as rains battered the region leading to swelling of the Godavari river and its tributaries. Areas like Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani and Jalna were among the worst affected, the reports added.
