Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police has implemented special traffic arrangements for the Mount Mary Fair, which will be held in Bandra. The traffic regulations will be in effect from 00:01 hrs on September 8, 2024, until 24:00 hrs on September 16, 2024, to accommodate the influx of visitors and ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Key Traffic Changes:

  • Mount Mary Road will be closed to all vehicles except for local residents with authorised car passes and emergency vehicles between 06:00 hrs and 23:00 hrs.
  • Kane Road will operate as a one-way street from its junction with Mount Mary Road to its junction with B.J. Road. Vehicles from B.J. Road will not be allowed entry.
  • Pereira Road will be one-way from East to West, with no entry permitted from B.J. Road.
  • St. John Baptista Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic except for local residents with special passes from 06:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs.
  • Chapel Road to Veronika Road: The right turn at Carmel Church will be closed to all vehicles.

No Parking Zones:

Parking restrictions will be enforced on both sides of the following roads from 06:00 hrs on September 8, 2024, to 23:00 hrs on September 16, 2024:

  • Mount Mary Road
  • Pereira Road
  • Kanae Road
  • Hill Road (Between St. Paul’s Road and Mehboob Studio junction)
  • Mt. Carmel Road
  • Chapel Road
  • John Baptist Road
  • St. Sebastian Road
  • Rebello Road
  • Dr. Peter Dias Road
  • St. Paul Road

Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and adhere to the traffic rules to avoid congestion and ensure a smooth experience during the fair.

In another news, the Central Railway (CR) has announced a night-time mega block on the Mumbai Division. The train operations will remain affected during this time due to maintenance on its suburban sections, including the Harbour Line between CSMT Mumbai and Panvel and the Trans-Harbour Line between Thane and Panvel. This work will take place from the night of Saturday, 7 September, to Sunday, 8 September 2024.

There will be no mega block during the day on the Harbour Line or Trans-Harbour Line. The night-time mega block will focus on engineering and maintenance on the Slow Lines.
