Mumbai: The student of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, who was found dead inside his apartment on Sunday, did not die of ragging, the cops privy to the matter have said. The deceased, Anurag Jaiswal, had a party with his friends till 3 o’clock in the night and left for his rented apartment. It was suspected that depression or ragging could be the reason behind his death.

His post-mortem was done on Monday at 1:30 in Rajwadi Hospital. Chembur Police said that the results have been reserved as they have sent it to chemical departments for further tests. However, an official assured that it was not because of ragging.

Police have also recorded the statement of his three friends, with whom he had rented the apartment.

He said most likely the cause is alcohol overdoes, however, the exact cause of death would become clear in a month or two when all the chemical department procedures are completed.

The 28-year-old student of Human Resource, Anurag Jaiswal, was reportedly heavily intoxicated and had attended a party with 125 people the night before.
