mumbai indians receive delightful news amidst speculations of rohit sharma leaving mi before ipl 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) did not have a great campaign in IPL 2024 as they finished at the bottom of the table after winning just four of the 14 matches. MI are usually very consistent in IPL, however, the last few years have not been the best for them. They made a strange decision ahead of the IPL 2024 and replaced five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma as MI skipper, handing over the leadership reins to Hardik Pandya. The move did not go down well with fans as there was a massive outrage against the franchise. Hardik Pandya too faced the wrath of fans and was booed whenever and wherever MI played. The new captain was rattled by the treatment meted out to him and made some bizarre captaincy decisions under pressure. The uneasy dressing room situation also had a role to play in MI's disastrous season.

Rohit Sharma reportedly wasn't happy with MI's decision to sack him as captain and rumours started doing rounds that he would leave the franchise ahead of IPL 2025. Since the team was divided, it was speculated that Suryakumar Yadav and possibly Jasprit Bumrah could also part ways with MI.

While there is no update if Rohit will stay with MI or not, the franchise is sure Suryakumar Yadav won't leave the team, which is a massive relief for them. As per a report in Sportstak, an MI source confirmed that Suryakumar Yadav is going nowhere in IPL 2025.

'No, he won’t leave. Just people speculating on social media in order to get engagement,” an MI source said, as quoted by Sports Tak.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav will be out of action for a few weeks after sustaining a hand injury he picked up in the Buchi Babu tournament. The star batter will miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy.
