New Delhi: Several rounds were fired at North East Delhi’s Welcome area on Saturday evening, causing panic among the locals. The Delhi Police said that a girl who was a bystander got caught up in the incident, and received serious injuries. She has been admitted to GTB Hospital in Delhi, said an official. He added that a few individuals have been arrested in connection of the incident. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off due to safety concerns.
"Several rounds were fired at North East Delhi's Welcome area. One lady was injured, officials are on the spot and an investigation is underway," as per Delhi Police. The police received an information through a PCR call that a fight broke out at Raja Market, subsequently leading to the fire incident.

According to the police, the call was made at 4:42 pm on Saturday. Upon receiving the information, senior officer, ASI Vishal along with staff reached the spot to take control of the situation. During investigation, the police found empty cartridges in the street, an official confirmed.
The police learnt that the violent incident took place after a fight broke out between jeans wholesalers allegedly over money. A crime team has been stationed at the spot, the police said. Along with the empty cartridges, the police found a total of 17 exhibits, live cartridges and deformed metal pieces. "Few culprits have been nabbed," said an official.
Noida Firing Incident
A firing incident has been reported at the house of RLD leader Somendra Awana in Nithari village, within the Sector 20 police station area of Noida, UP. After the shots were fired, the suspect fled the scene, but the police acted swiftly and arrested the accused. The incident is believed to be linked to a dispute over a financial transaction. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
