Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup jowar flour
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds or ajwain
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper powder
  • ¼ tsp dry ginger powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cumin seeds, ginger, red chilli powder, water and salt. Knead into a firm dough and set aside for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Next, preheat an iron skillet and divide the dough into 7-10 equal portions. Ensure that every portion is rolled into a fine circle. Place the rolled dough on the preheated skillet on medium heat.

Step 3: Cook each bhakri dough until golden brown, put light pressure with a wooden press. Once you’ll notice brown spots on the bhakri. Serve bhakri with a steaming cup of masala chai or pair it with lauki chana dal for a delightful taste. Enjoy!
