Among the longest-serving active Indian cricketers at the moment, Piyush Chawla is top of the list. While the star-leg spinner has not played for India since 2012, he remains among the best bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been a key part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Chawla was part of both the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 Cricket World Cup-winning Indian teams under MS Dhoni's captaincy. He made his debut for India in a Test match in England in 2006 at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali.
Chawla was the second youngest Indian to debut for India in Test cricket after Sachin Tendulkar (16 years, 205 days). At the time of his maiden appearance for India under Rahul Dravid's captaincy, the leg-spinner was aged just 17 years and 75 days.
