Why Mohammed Shami Was Not Selected For Border-Gavaskar Trophy
An ankle injury has ruled Mohammed Shami out of competitive action ever since the ODI World Cup 2023 final. He even underwent surgery and was subsequently rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru as the BCCI aimed to make him fit for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
There were reports that while he was rehabilitating, he once again suffered an injury to his knee. This has most probably derailed his progress, and he unfortunately had to miss the all-important tour to Australia.
