Mielle Beauty's CEO and founder Monique Rodriguez on Saturday addressed the backlash the brand is facing for alleged hair loss. Her video statement, released on social media, comes after several customers complained about their products, with some saying the rosemary and mint oil caused extensive hair damage. Rodriguez assured her followers that there have been no changes to her role in the business or the product’s ingredients.
In a video on Instagram, Monique Rodriguez thanked her supporters and said that Mielle Beauty is a result of her 'passion' for hair care. Addressing the backlash on social media, she added: "When I made the decision to partner with P&G, it was driven by my vision to take Mielle to new heights, and become a global beauty brand. That vision remains as strong as ever today."

She said that 'there has been no formula change' in the products. Rodriguez urged her customers to compare the ingredients to the those back in 2022 before her deal with P&G was announced in January 2023.
The CEO's statement comes after a beauty expert's video went viral on social media. She claimed that Mielle rosemary and mint hair oil caused hair loss.

“The amount of people who have reached out to me personally, either in DMs or in the comment sections that said that they use Mielle products, and […] experience scalp irritations, or massive hair loss, or hair breakage, it’s insane,” she said. “There is no other reason for this, except that when she sold out to Procter and Gamble, they changed the formula.”
