The padel action will move to India soon and the country will become the 'padel capital' from November 19 to 24. The much-awaited FIP Promotion India Padel Open will be held at the Bennett University in Greater Noida. Players from different countries will showcase their skills in the padel event.
In this article, we will be talking about Samuel Jones, who has made a name for himself in the padel world. Jones is known for his impeccable skills, which makes him stand out from the rest.
Jones left tennis at the age of 13 and took up padel and represents Great Britain internationally. He moved to Spain in 2016 and lives in Madrid. The 23-year-old has trained in Barcelona, UAE and Marbella. He has 140 FIP points and his worldwide ranking is 181.
Jones was named the LTA Male Padel Player of the Year in July for his brilliant performances in 2023. During an interview a few months back, Jones said that padel will overtake tennis when it is more mainstream.
"You don't realise you're doing exercise. You're enjoying it, you're laughing the whole time… you're still getting a competitive rally… you're burning calories and it's fun at the same time. I do feel like in the future – when padel is more mainstream – it will overtake tennis," he said.
