Marine engineers graduate from CSL’s institute

The passing-out function of the 49th batch of Graduate Marine Engineers of the Cochin Shipyard Marine Engineering Training Institute was held on the institute campus on Wednesday.
Brigadier Srikumar M. (Retd), head, security and training, Synergy Maritime Private Limited, was the chief guest on the occasion. He urged the cadets to brace for the challenges ahead to have a rewarding career.
The passing-out programme was attended by representatives of CSL management and shipping companies, faculty members, officials from IDBI Bank, parents, and students, according to a press release.
All 62 graduate marine engineers of the passing-out batch have secured placements from major shipping companies such as Elegant Marine Services, Synergy Group, SIMA Marine, IMEC UK, K Line, d’Amico, and MSC. The next batch of the course will start on September 2 with increased capacity of 100 seats with 100% sponsorship from shipping companies, the release said.
