New Delhi: A 35-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the upscale Greater Kailash area of south Delhi on Thrusday. The attack, sources claim, was carried out by a fugitive gangster with links to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, one of the accused in the 2022 singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case.
The man, identified as Nadir Shah, was shot dead by bikeborne men when he stepped out of a gymnasium. He was rushed to a private hospital in Saket where he was declared brought dead.
The police have collected bullet projectiles and empty cartridges that found on the spot.
"On enquiry, it was found that Nadir Shah had suffered some bullet injuries. Some assailants came on a 2-wheeler, fired on him and ran away," the police said in a statement. .
Nadir Shah had links with jailed gangster Rohit Chaudhary, who is a rival of Lawrence Bishnoi, police sources said. "Police is probing all angles including personal enmity including gang rivalry," the source said.
Fugitive gangster Rohit Godara, who is a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
