Lucknow: A man was stabbed to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad by five individuals inside a graveyard. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon and the cops have arrested one while a search is on for the rest. The deceased, 25-year-old Mohammed Yunus alias Bhola, was reciting prayers at his father’s grave when the attack took place.

He was a resident in the Daulatbagh area, and was at the graveyard to recite the Al-Fatiha, the first chapter of the Quran, at his father’s grave. Yunus’s father Rafiq had died on October 21, a report in the Indian Express stated.

The deceased was accompanied by his cousin Shaquib, who told the police that four men entered the graveyard and attacked Yunus. Shaquib said Yunus rain but the accused allegedly followed and stabbed him repeatedly, the report added. Yunus was immediately taken to a hospital but was declared dead by the doctors.

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the victim's brother Mohammed Yaseen lodged at Nagphani police station. According to the report, six men have been named in the complaint – four brothers, their father, and their family friend, a Congress councillor.

What Cops' Primary Probe Revealed

Kunwar Ranvijay Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), Moradabad city said that primary investigation suspects that the man's relationship with the woman named in FIR could be the reason.

"Our primary investigation has revealed that the deceased’s relationship with a woman of the family named in the FIR could be a reason behind the murder. Six people have been named in the complaint and we have arrested one Ikram so far," he said, quoted the Indian Express.

"Three teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused," he added.

Meanwhile, Yunus’s uncle Mohammed Imran told the media that Yunus and the accused had a violent face-off some four months ago. He said the matter was sorted out the police intervened. He alleged that had the police taken strict action against the accused then, Yunus would have been alive.
