On November 7, Thursday, the official Instagram handle of the Indian Cinematographers Union (ISC) announced that popular Malayalam cinematographer Sujith Vassudev, best known for his work on films such as Memories (2013), 7th Day (2014), Drishyam (2014) and Lucifer (2019), had been inducted into the creative congregation. Sujith had made his directorial debut with the Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer James & Alice in 2016.

The Announcement

Sharing images of Sujith from various sets and shooting locations, the Instagram post read, "Sujith Vaassudev is a celebrated Indian Cinematographer and filmmaker, primarily known for his work in the Malayalam film industry with significant contributions to Tamil and Telugu films as well. Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, He was determined to become a cinematographer from a very young age and began his career as a camera assistant in a studio after completing his bachelor’s degree. With grit, determination and hard work, he fulfilled that dream when he made his debut as a cinematographer in 2010 with ‘Chekavar’ (2010). His credit includes Television episodes, documentaries, short films, commercials, corporate films, music videos along with feature films.

Sujith is best known for his work in ‘Memories’ (2013), ‘7th Day’ (2014), ‘Drishyam’ (2013), and ‘Lucifer’ (2019). His excellence in cinematography earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Cinematographer in 2013 for the films ‘Ayaal’ (2013) and ‘Memories’ (2013).

Passion plays a huge role in his project selection. Sujith’s versatile career includes directing films like ‘James & Alice’ (2016) and producing and acting in several projects. His consistent innovation and expertise have made him one of the most sought-after professionals in the industry. (sic)"
