The Malayalam film industry, already shaken by the Hema Committee report, faced another shock on September 3 when actor Nivin Pauly was accused in a sexual assault case. The allegations, made by an unidentified woman, sharply contrast with Pauly's usually clean image. In a press conference held soon after the complaint, Pauly strongly denied the accusations, stating he was the target of a conspiracy and claimed he didn’t know the woman or the incident. He said, "An FIR has been filed against me. I will fight this legally and am ready to do whatever it takes to prove my innocence. These fake allegations can happen to anyone, and I am speaking up for all those affected. If we don't, these incidents will keep happening."
