Lionel Messi shared a touching moment with Luis Suarez's youngest son, Lautaro, during Inter Miami's 2-0 victory over Cincinnati in the MLS on Saturday, August 24. Videos of the interaction between the two has quickly went viral online. Messi has been sidelined since the 2024 Copa America final in July due to an ankle injury sustained during the match. Despite this, he has attended most of Inter Miami's games to show his support. In their recent match against Cincinnati, Suarez netted a brace while Messi observed from the stands.
In the video that has gone viral, Suarez's son Lautaro appeared to walk past Messi towards his mother, Sofi Balbi. However, Sofi prompted the six-year-old to return and greet the legendary player. The young boy then went back to Messi and gave him a high five.
Messi and Suarez have shared a close friendship since their time together at Barcelona from 2014 to 2020. The pair reunited when Suarez joined Inter Miami in January 2024, a few months after Messi made the move to the MLS club in 2023. Their families are often spotted vacationing together.

Both the Inter Miami stars were recently seen vacationing together with their wives, Antonela Roccuzzo and Sofi Balbi. Suarez's wife posted photos on Instagram of the two couples enjoying their time at a beachside location.
The photos surfaced after the Herons were knocked out of the Leagues Cup following a 3-2 defeat to Columbus in the round of 16 on August 13. Although Suarez played in the match, Messi was not fit to start. The Argentine star is anticipated to make his return before the playoffs. However, the pair chose to take a break from football before Suarez returned to deliver an impressive performance in the Herons' recent MLS match against Cincinnati.
Luis Suarez has taken the lead for the Herons in absence of Leo. His remarkable stats include 18 goals and eight assists in 26 appearances. As of now, Inter Miami tops the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 56 points.
