Lucknow: Six people were killed after a three-storey building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow on Saturday. The incident at Lucknow’s Transport Nagar area occurred when work was being carried out in the building’s basement.
NDRF and SDRF teams swung into action to rescue the people and hospitals were put on standby. Over 25 people have been rescued so far. More people are feared to be trapped.
The incident occurred at around 5 pm. A truck, which was parked near the building, was also crushed due to the collapse of the building.
"Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to the scene and are working to extricate the trapped individuals," said Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the situation. The Chief Minister has instructed the district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams to reach the spot and expedite the relief work and immediately take the injured to the hospital for proper treatment. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured, UP CMO said.
