Ghaziabad: The reunion of a man in the city after 30 years made headlines a few days back with people expressing joy over the miracle. The man, Bhim Singh, had returned home 30 years after he went missing in 1993. As it should be, the family and its emotions were visible when they found out the truth. However, it seems the joy and happiness were short-lived as a twist has entangled the entire story.
As the story of Bhim Singh spread, the cops found that it was not the first time that he lost, found and reunited with a family. Five months back in June, the man was taken to a family in Dehradun in Uttarakhand where again, the same story was played up.
He was lost, trafficked and went in shadows till he happened to appear where his family was. With two reunions in five months, the police are confused and probing the entire case from the beginning, reported PTI.
The police sources told PTI that the man had allegedly made a similar claim in Dehradun, where he had identified another family as his own. He also began living with them but recently, he left for Delhi and did not return. In Dehradun case, he had approached the police saying he was Monu Sharma and asked cops to find his parents.

Dehradun Reunion And Sharma Family
When he approached police, they printed his photograph in newspapers after which a woman Asha Sharma identified him as her missing son. Soon after, this Monu started living with her. He then suddenly left for Delhi and did not inform his 'Dehradun parents'.
Police said that 'Monu' met Asha and Kapildev Sharma on June 26, 2024. The Sharmas' son went missing around 16-17 years ago.
Asha Sharma, PTI reported, came to know that her Monu has been reunited with another family in Ghaziabad. She told police that he would fight with her daughter's children and ask to throw them out of the house. As per the report, Asha's husband Kapildev had a doubt on Monu but because of his wife, he allowed him to live in the house.
Monu reportedly borrowed Rs 8,000 from someone in Dehradun before leaving for Delhi, Kapildev said, as quoted by PTI. He has told police his family does not wish to see the man's face ever again.
Twice Everything, Now 2 Police Forces Finding Truth
Meanwhile, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Inspector Praveen Pant, who helped the man meet Asha and Kapildev in Dehradun, said that a probe is on and the team will go to Ghaziabad, if there comes a need for the same, the PTI report added.
The cops said when the man came to them in Dehradun, he seemed a "little mentally unstable". Speaking on the matter, Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that the police are keeping a close watch on the case.
The Ghaziabad Police is in touch with their counterparts in Dehradun. Ghaziabad Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimish Patil said, "Discrepancies have emerged in Raju's (Bhim Singh) statements as he could not provide the name of the truck driver who dropped him off both in Dehradun and Ghaziabad, raising suspicion"
"Despite the inconsistencies in Raju's statements, we are investigating the case thoroughly to verify the authenticity of his claims," the DCP added, quoted PTI.
The man has been called by the Ghaziabad Police for further questioning.
