Pune: The city administration has announced a holiday for Eid-E-Milad on Monday, September 16. This means that Punekars can get the big-break they needed from their regular routine. It is possible only because the administration had already announced a public holiday on September 17 on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi.
District collector Suhas Diwase has issued a notification in this regard, declaring a public holiday on Monday as per the directives of the Maharashtra government, said a report by the Indian Express. Meanwhile, many firms in Pune have already gave a leave to its employees since several roads and routes will be closed for vehicles in view of the grand celebration across the city for Ganapati ceremonies. The Ganesha Visarjana festivities are expected to last for at least 24 hours, which is why, several companies have announced a half-day for Wednesday.
Taking the opportunity, Punekars can plan a trip for this long-weekend accordingly. Also, the city is witnessing a delightful weather at the moment. Sharing on social media platforms, netizens say the city is nothing less than a heaven at present.

On Sunday, the city woke up to showers, and a cloudy sky. Due to the continuous rain, Pune's minimum temperature is also being recorded below 20 for several days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported.
This year, the city has received rainfall more than the average of Monsoon. Owing to which, dams of several crucial dams had to be opened up. Weather experts have taken this positively, saying the the current rainfall will compensate for the lack of rain last year.
