The Lapiplasty World Pickleball Championships is back with a bang. The mega pickleball event is scheduled to take place at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Some of the most prominent names in the pickleball will be present in Texas when the tournament starts on November 4. Anna Leigh Waters will be one of the players to watch out for. The teenage sensation took very little time to establish her authority and has been the world's number one.
Olympic Gold medalist Jack Sock will too be seen in this event alongside Ben Johns and Catherine Parenteau, world number one in women’s doubles. Players will be participating in all three categories: singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns will be one of the most formidable names in the doubles while Leigh Waters will also partner Catherine Parenteau in the women’s doubles. Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher are expected to pose a great challenge to Waters and Parenteau.
In men’s doubles Ben and Collin Johns are likely to be tested by J.W. Johnson and Dylan Frazier who have been pretty impressive off late. What makes Lapiplasty World Pickleball Championships exciting is the fact that this tournament offers highest ranking points and prize money.
Connor Pardoe, CEO and Founder of the Pro Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour revealed they are expecting a large contingent of players to register their names for the event which will start on November 4 and will conclude on November 10. “We will have the largest event in pickleball history.
“We are expecting participation to exceed 3,500 players. This event is going to be wild.”
