Deepika Called Lakshya After Paris Olympics

In a recent interview, Lakshya opened up about being devastated over losing at the Paris Olymy=pics after coming so close to victory. The young athlete, who scripted history with his remarkable performance, reached the semi-finals but ultimately lost to Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia.

He shared, “After the match, I was devastated. It’s going to hurt for a while that I couldn’t give India the medal at this Olympics. Now that I sit back and think, I know there are some things that I could have done better. Everything was fine, but towards the end, I wasn’t able to get there…”

Talking about DP, he added, “They have been really supportive. Even after the bronze medal match, she called me and said ‘It’s fine; don’t worry. You did good.’ Prakash sir has been like a mentor and father figure to me. It’s always nice to talk to them if I want any advice or want to talk to them freely.”

Not Just Deepika, Even Ranveer Cheered For Lakshya

After the match, the Don 3 star had taken to his social media to pen a note for Lakshya. “What a player! What endurance, what agility, what a range of shots, what focus, what grit, what smarts. Scintillating badminton on display! Its difficult to encapsulate just how brilliant he’s been at the Olympics. Missed out narrowly in a game of extremely small margins. But he’s only 22 and he is just getting started,” he had written.

Ranveer concluded, “Fight another day. Proud of you, starboy. @senlakshya.”
