New Delhi: KTM has launched the 1390 Super Duke R EVO, its flagship streetfighter, in India at a price of Rs 22.96 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model marks KTM’s entry into the premium motorcycle segment in India. The 1390 Super Duke R brings a powerful 1,350cc twin-cylinder engine and the sharp styling that has made KTM famous, especially in their smaller bikes.
The 1390 Super Duke R gets a major update this year with a new design and improved features. It now looks more like other models in KTM's naked bike range, such as the 990 Duke. The front features a vertically stacked LED headlamp with new DRLs, while the bike also gets new fuel tank shrouds and winglets for better aerodynamics. The subframe cover is smaller, giving the bike a more compact and aggressive look.
The frame of the 1390 Super Duke R is the same as the 1290 Super Duke R. The suspension has been updated with new fully adjustable 48mm WP front forks, and the rear has a monoshock for better compression damping. The 1390 Super Duke R EVO variant comes with a semi-active suspension system that uses magnetic valves for real-time damping adjustments. There are five suspension modes—Auto, Comfort, Rain, Street, and Sport—and automatic preload adjustment to handle different loads. The bike also has an anti-dive function to stiffen the front suspension under hard braking, as well as a ‘Factory Start’ feature that adjusts the rear preload and ride height for better launch performance.
Under the seat, the 1390 Super Duke R is powered by a 1,350cc LC8 V-Twin engine that produces 188 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike also features a "cam shift" system, which brings variable valve timing for better engine performance. The 1390 Super Duke R runs on Michelin Power GP tyres and uses Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers for braking, with a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
The bike is packed with tech, including five riding modes, cruise control, KTMConnect, engine brake control, adjustable wheelie control, and a 5-inch TFT screen. For safety, it comes with lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control, and launch control.
