In an interview with Zoom, Kritika revealed that she signed up for the web series Hush Hush andBambai Meri Jaan on the same weekend. She ended up finishing Hush Hush first but found herself invigorated by the challenge of playing two diverse women. Kritika recalled of her roles on both series, “I was really excited by the contrast in both the characters. Dolly’s the victim of her circumstances and in her family as well. She’s somebody who struggles to stand up for herself. She only learns to stand up for herself by the end of the season.”

She continued, "For somebody who never held a gun or sees any crime in front of her eyes, life changes for her. It's haunting. Then on top of it, to lose a friend like Juhi's [Chawla] character. It was a soft character, a very sensitive portrayal and a sensitive environment of work even, with a lot of camaraderie [and] women centric conversations. Just women uplifting other women."

The actress praised director Chandra for bringing out the "female gaze" on Hush Hush. Kritika was mindful to be genuine in her portrayal of Dolly, a rich but sheltered young woman who doesn't have much agency, like many in Indian society. She added, "You have the lived experience of a woman. The way then [Chandra] brings empathy to characters is unlike many male directors probably because they've not lived that life."

Kritika Kamra on wanting to challenge herself in her careerAfter the release of both Hush Hush and Bambai Meri Jaan, Kritika said she was often offered similar parts especially to play a badass character. However, she wanted to branch out and chose to play a police officer in Zee5’s Gyaarah Gyaarah. She stated, “When you get appreciation for something, then obviously it becomes the safe choice for that kind of role. But I think the onus is on me as an actor to keep breaking that pattern because I don’t want to be put into a particular box.”

Kritika went on to say, "I handle a gun in Hush Hush and I'm very good with a gun in Bambai Meri Jaan. Now as a cop, I have a gun on me all the time. The way that this thing has been approached in all three characters is completely different from the rest. There's no similarity in how Dolly or Habiba or Vamika, my character in Gyaarah Gyaarah, do the same action."

When asked about what real-life personality she'd someday want to play, Kritika mused, "Recently in a conversation this came up and I was talking about Amrita Pritam. I thought how lovely would it be to be able to portray her in any form or shape… film, show even stage. What an incredible story and what a wonderful artiste who is going to be a legend forever and her writing is going to live forever! Also, I am Punjabi so I understand the roots. I feel like if there's ever a chance to play Amrita Pritam, I would I'd give my arm and leg for it!"
