Th IPl mega auction is all set to take place across two days on November 24 (Sunday) and 25 (Monday) at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. This is of the biggest auctions in history as 576 players will ho under th hammer as teams look to fill their 206 available spots. One of he players who everyone will have their eyes on is star Team India batter KL Rahul. He is a marquee player who will be part of Set 1, as many teams will likely go all out for the former Lucknow Super Giants captain.
KL Rahul will be a great option for teams who are looking for an Indian batter who can also keep wickets, and become captain as well. There are reports that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), where KL Rahul played for three seasons in 2013, 2016 and 2017. There are reports that he might also be made captain of the side.
Why KL Rahul Left LSG?
KL Rahul was released by LSG ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. There were rumours of the star batter having some differences with the franchise, especially after his on-field altercation with owner Sanjiv Goenka that trapped a lot of eyeballs during an IPL 2024 match.
In an interaction with Star Sports, KL Rahul said that he left LSG because he wanted to star afresh. He wanted to go to a franchise where he could find some freedom and the team atmosphere could become lighter.
"I wanted to start fresh, I wanted to explore my options and I wanted to go and play where I could find some freedom, where the team atmosphere could be something lighter. Sometimes you need to move away and find something good for yourself," he said.
