Actor Kartik Aaryan has wowed audiences and critics with his athletic physique in 2024’s Chandu Champion, a biopic on the Paralympics Champion Murlikant Petkar. But getting to that level of physical fitness takes a lot of dedication and a really stringent diet. Actors worldwide have their own preferences on what to eat while preparing for physically demanding roles and for Aaryan, the go-to meal or snack while on a diet is a simple Oat and Tomato soup.
Oat Tomato Soup is an excellent choice for weight loss due to its low-calorie yet nutrient-dense ingredients. Oats are rich in fibre, promoting satiety and aiding digestion, which helps control hunger and prevent overeating. Tomatoes are naturally low in calories and high in antioxidants like lycopene, which support metabolism and overall health. The combination of oats and tomatoes provides a good balance of carbohydrates, fibre, and essential nutrients without adding excessive fat. Additionally, the use of spices like red chilli and black pepper can boost metabolism, making this soup a light yet satisfying option for weight management.

Since this simple recipe comes together in under 15 minutes and isn’t too complex in terms of technique, it makes for the ideal late-night dish or anytime you need something nutritious and warming.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup Oats
- 1 ½ cups Water
- 4-5 Tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- ½ tsp Oregano
Method
- Blend the oats and water together into a smooth liquid and strain it into a saucepan.
- Next blend up the tomatoes and add that puree to the oat milk mixture.
- Heat until simmering and then add 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, and ½ tsp oregano to the mixture. Stir and let it cook for another 5 minutes on medium heat.
- If the soup is too thick, add a little water to adjust the consistency. Let it simmer for a few more minutes.
- Once the soup is ready, serve hot with a sprinkle of oregano on top.
