President-elect Donald Trump on Friday appointed Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary of the Trump campaign, as his press secretary at the White House. The 27-year-old, on course to become the youngest White House press secretary ever, is married to Nick and they have a son named Nicholas.
Announcing her appointment, Trump said: 'Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the national press secretary on my historic campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House press secretary,' he said.
"Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again."

Karoline and Nick's son, Nicholas, was born in July 2024, a few days before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. She said in an interview that she was on leave from the campaign due to child birth and was watching the rally on TV with her son.
However, she revealed that when the shooting happened, she told her husband that she needed to go to work immediately. She did so, and handled both the campaigns' responsibilities as well as of motherhood.
