After criticism for not sitting for interviews outside her ideological comfort zone, Kamala Harris has agreed to an interview with Fox News. The Vice President will record an interview with Fox anchor Bret Baier on Wednesday in Pennsylvania, the network announced Monday.
After CNN and CBS' '60 Minutes' and several other interviews with local radio stations and TV channels, Harris will now enter the 'lion's den' with Fox News, a channel known for its conservative leanings.
Here's everything you need to know about the interview:
When Will The Interview Air?
The interview will air at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 17, 2024. It will recorded earlier on Wednesday in Pennsylvania.
Who Will Host The Interview?
The interview will be hosted by Bret Baier, the chief political anchor of Fox News. As per reports, Baier is one of the few faces in the network whose identity is not associated with conservative commentary.
Why Is Harris Finally Sitting With Fox News?
The interview with Harris comes as the campaign trail draws to a close, with the elections slated for November. Harris has been proactive with media interaction in this last phase of the campaign, going on a blitz of interviews and sit-downs. She recently participated in a broadcast town hall and a virtual interaction with voters hosted by Oprah Winfrey.
Despite early criticism from Republicans regarding not appearing for live TV interviews, the Harris campaign seems to have turned the tables, criticizing the Donald Trump campaign for their recent refusal of interviews. Trump has recently refused an interview with CBS News's '60 Minutes' as well as for not revealing her medical records.
