Jiya Shankar is a famous TV actress, who has also made her big screen debut with the Riteish Deshmukh directorial, Ved. She shared screen space with Deshmukh, Genelia, Ashok Saraf and others. After Ved, she participated in Bigg Boss OTT 2 as a contestant. The actress managed to win the hearts of the fans with her performance on the show. A few months ago, Jiya’s mother had been hospitalised due to health issues. Fortunately, she is doing well now, but at that point in time, Jiya asked her fans to pray for her mother’s speedy recovery. In a recent interview, Jiya Shankar recalled how Riteish and Genelia helped her during the tough phase of her life.
Jiya Shankar praises Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia
Jiya Shankar got emotional while recalling the tough days of her life when her mother was hospitalised. She revealed how Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh were keeping a constant check on her mother’s health. The BB OTT 2 fame told Pinkvilla, “They are such beautiful souls. When my mother was recently hospitalized, I had posted a tweet about it. I believe agar dawa kaam nahi aayi to dua aayegi (Prayers can move mountains). So I tweeted asking my fans and well-wishers to keep her in their prayers, as they love me, know my mom, and are fond of her as well.”

Jiya stated that she was quite disturbed during that phase. Many people messaged and called her. While speaking about Riteish and Genelia, she said, “That's when it reached Genelia as well and she called me. She is a sweetheart. They both are. They are couple goals and are wonderful human beings. Genelia called me and I spoke to Riteish sir as well and they asked me to tell them if I needed any help of any sorts. They are very sweet. Like, you're blessed if you get to know them."

Jiya Shankar revealed that her mother is now recovered. Talking about her upcoming projects, she will next be seen in an untitled Tamil film. Reports also suggest that Jiya Shankar is all set to make her comeback on TV.
